I bought professional color and it doesn't say how long to leave it on to process! For professional hair color. How long should the mix be on your hair to acheive a light blonde?
now by professional, you dont mean something from walmart? But, if you really mean like Redken or another brand, color stops processing at 45min, it wont get any lighter. But, every ten minutes, you should test a strand (spray a little piece with water and rub the color off to see your hair). If its not good enough, put some more on that spot and go another 10min. Becareful with your roots! they will turn out lighter if applied to it first! But, usually color should be on 35-45minFor professional hair color. How long should the mix be on your hair to acheive a light blonde?
well if your hair is brown i say about 25 mins if your hair is red 20-25 mins and if your hair is black 30 mins i would guess cuz i get streakes alot so yah
Most professional haircolors have a FIXED PROCESSING TIME just like home haircolor kits (20-30 mins.) If you leave it on for 25 Mins. You should be good. You can leave many brands on longer but, optimum color is achieved at 25 Mins. Unless you are using a High Lift Color (45 min.) Or Toner Or Tone On Tone Transparent Color (10-15 Min.)
If you can give the brand, I can tell you the how long you can leave it on.

How to Lift a Bad Professional Hair Color?
I went to the salon on Friday with blonde hair. I told the hairdresser I wanted to add some brown highlights to it so it would not be as difficult to maintain during the winter. She totally screwed my hair up. It is very dark brown and instead of having my blonde show threw, she put a toner on so it looks like I have copper highlights. Of course the salon is closed and they are out of town at a hiar show until Wednesday anyway. I have to work tomorrow, and I really can't go like this. Is there anything I can do at home to fix this mess?? I understand everyone has an opinion, but right now I really just need helpfull and factual answers. Thank you!How to Lift a Bad Professional Hair Color?
If you touch it it becomes your problem and no longer the salons. Yeah it sucks, but suck it up until they are open again and go back and have them fix it. Ask for a different stylist, one who knows what they are doing and don't be shy about voicing that. They should fix it for free. They never should have put a toner on top of your blonde unless you didn't want to keep any of it. If it's copper now you could end up with a bigger mess if you try to do anything to it on your own.How to Lift a Bad Professional Hair Color?
Really the only way to fix it is to go to a different salon. I had the same thing happen. I have red hair and wanted low lights and ended up with dark brown hair. It looked awful! I called a higher end salon and got it fixed with no problem. Not all salons are closed on Monday. Check around and find one that has a good reputation. I found out the hard way that it doesn't pay to skimp when it comes to color. Good luck!!

I just used Clairol Professional hair color. I have a question for any hair professionals?
My hair base color has been classified as the darkest of blondes. I have alot of cool undertones... I just used Clariol Professional Lightest Beige. 12b1. MY hair is definately lighter, but a bit reddish! This has a violet undertone. I left this on for 40 minutes.. What gives?I just used Clairol Professional hair color. I have a question for any hair professionals?
Sometimes even beige color can come out with reddish tones, try using a color that it specified as ash instead. I have had the same problem myself. You can also call a representative at the 1-800 # on your haircolor box. I hope this helps!I just used Clairol Professional hair color. I have a question for any hair professionals?

How do you acheive professional hair color at home?
My colorist decided to become a full time Mom so I'm without a good hair colorist and I live in a very rural area. The lady who replaced my colorist never has my brand or color on hand and the last time she colored my hair she had me come back the next day for a ';do-over';. My old colorist told me she used Matrix 5 which is a med brown and the 20 Vol Developer. She was very uncomfortable giving me the info as she does not want to undercut her replacement nor does she want to be responsible for me messing my hair up. She recommended I take the color and developer to the replacement colorist and let her do my hair ... which I DO NOT want to do. So, my question is .. what is the ratio of color:developer for Matrix products and is an overall color achievable at home without disastrous results? How do you acheive professional hair color at home?
Sounds like you still have contact with your former stylist. Yes, she should be uncomfortable giving you information that should be done by professionals and professional products.
If I were you, I would ask her to consult the new operator about the situation and give her the formula for you. The new stylist should be grateful and the former stylist should be happy knowing she has made the proper steps to assure that her formal customer is properly taken care of. If the new stylist does not want to do this, then perhaps your former stylist can recommend someone else but I think they will both be pleased and you also.
May God Bless! How do you acheive professional hair color at home?
I just wanted to say, I ordered my matrix color and developer online, did my hair myself and am very, very pleased with the results and saved myself about $50.00 in professional fees. The Matrix color I used mixed 1 1/2 oz of color to 1 1/2 oz of developer .... EASY!

Need professional hair color advice: how to correct home coloring gone bad - curly afro-amer/black hair?
HI! I checked the archives for advice but all of them are for people who don't have my hair color or texture. I am an african american/black woman with naturally curly (kinky) black hair.
I dyed my hair ';honey blonde'; but it turned out to be ';Ronald McDonald orange.'; From what I can tell from other responses, it might be good to use an ash-based demi-permanent color to fix this mess, but I don't know:
1) Does it make a difference whether I use ';blond ash'; or ';lightest blond ash,';
2) How do I make sure I apply it evenly -- my hair is so frickin curly that I'm bound to miss something if I just apply it straight.
3) I'm just assuming that an ash demi-permanent color is the answer -- is there some other advice for black hair??
Please help!!!Need professional hair color advice: how to correct home coloring gone bad - curly afro-amer/black hair?
First of all, I understand you said that your hair is kinky, so I am going to assume that you have not attempted to relax your hair prior to the coloring. If you hair is relaxed, I would not suggest you try to go any lighter. Next, typically using a box color on VIRGIN hair (not relaxed, permed, or previously colored) is only capable of lightening about 2 shades (unless you use a high lift color, in which case you could get 3-4 shades lighter.) So if your hair is darkest brown to black, what you have ultimately done is just exposed the underlying pigment in your hair and no extra processing time would have made the result any different. Ethnic hair is very tricky because it is much more delicate than other hair types. I would not recommend you attempt to correct this on your own. In answer to the question, an ash base will neutralize, to a small extent, the amount of red/orange tones, but probably not enough. Your hair should have been lightened with a bleach product as opposed to a box color. However, it will be extremely difficult and dangerous to try and get black hair to any shade of blonde due to the amount of processing time it would take to get to that point. By the time it is blonde, it will likely be on the floor. In conclusion, the best thing for you to do is to go to a salon to get your hair to a color that is tolerable. Once you have grown out your hair and it is completely virgin, you can try again, but have it done by a professional.Need professional hair color advice: how to correct home coloring gone bad - curly afro-amer/black hair?
I am biracial *black and white* and I kinda know wut you are saying. I would go to a hair salon to fix the problem. That costs money I know but you need to have someone fix your hair. Otherwise you might damage it more. Sorry I couldnt be more help.
Sounds like you didn't leave the dye on long enough. Pulled most of the color out, but didn't get the honey blonde. Get to a salon asap. They have the miracle stuff to pull out what you used, and then can dye your hair back to your natural color. My advise is to leave it alone and let it get healthy after that. Too many applications can damage your hair and make it fall out. Crurly afro american hair breaks easily anyway.
Try that shiny thick oil smoother on your hair. (like Citre Shine) It should take your curls and make them soft an beautiful. It will soften your curls and friz and with a headband you'll have a crips and clean doo.
i think you have to wash it with a clarifying shampoo. then with a baking soda. i forgot the brand, but the mag suggests that it will faden the color.
I would go to a well respected stylist... Color Correction is such a hard thing to do yourself, and the colors you buy from Sally's and other stores, are premixed and usually don't even tell what base it is... You never know what your going to get...Also, the color it shows on the box only turns out that color when you apply it on white or pale blonde hair....Save you hair more damage by going to someone who has experience with this kind of mess... It will be a little more expensive, but well worth it in the end...
well... for black coloured hair or dark brown... i dont think ur supposed to really dye it blonde out of the box!
it should say it on the box!!!!!
sometimes the blonde will come out orange... or yellow... or in this case red because it needs to be bleached.
i have dark brown hair and i put in honey blonde highlights... but they came out yellow! ... not blonde... or honey blonde for that matter!
BUT! i would go to the salon and get it fixed!
in the meantime... washing ur hair will help the loose some of the chemicals in there still!
Well it depens on the color u were befor u colored it! U might want to go to a salon!!!! but u could bye a dark color to cover up the orange! But a blue base color will get rid of the orange!

Professional Hair Color Question?
I have two questions I would like to ask to a professional hairdresser:
1) I am trying an experiment on my mannquin head who is a natural level dark brown (2), but I want to eventually bring her to a dark blonde/medium blonde (level 6/7) I haven't used bleach because it is very damaging to the hair, so I've tried using SoColor Matrix in the Hi-Tones Version with equal parts neutral and equal parts ash to lift dark bases and some extra blonding cream. It has not worked, but I've also considered using an oil lightner. What should I do here and is there a better formulation I should be using?
2) Also, after I accomplish lightening her I want to bring her back to her natural level 2/3, and have been referring back to the contributing pigment which is red/red brown for level 2/3. What formulation would work best for this?
Thank You!Professional Hair Color Question?
You should probably do a swatch test to determine what works best. Try taking several pieces around the same color and put them in different things to see what works best over all. I assume you not only want less damage, but you want a good even tone as well. I would try 20V. perox with equal parts of Basic White or another bleach. Being mannequins don't have body temperature you can pretty much get it on evenly without having the roots pull lighter. Then you can tone it to the shade you want it and the color back will be easier because you've already toned it. Try one swatch like that, and another with the oil lightener and still another with high lift color I wouldn't use the ash or neutral until after you get your lift. You can use those to tone it later and it will lift higher for you.skin allergy

Health dangers between retail hair color vs professional hair color?
this is for grade 12 chemistry courseHealth dangers between retail hair color vs professional hair color?
There's really no difference. They both use the same commong ingredient. The only diff is that professional color is more customizeable (if the person knows what they are doing).

Professional hair color & developer?
Can someone explain to me how you use professional hair colors %26amp; developers, and explain what the ';volumes'; mean and which volume you use.
Thanks.Professional hair color %26amp; developer?
When using professional products, follow the manufacturers instructions. Best would be to leave this to the professionals, but if you must do it on your own, then here we go...
Developers 10, 20, 30 %26amp; 40 volume are the most common. Each brand recommends it slightly different but a rule of thumb would be,
10 volume is for depositing color
20 volume is for depositing color, covering grey resistant hair, and lifting or lightening color 1-2 levels.
30 volume is for lightening 2-3 levels
40 volume is for lightening 3-4 levels.
CHECK THE MANUFACTURER INFORMATION, this info may vary with the product.
Level- is the lightness or darkness of a hair color

Hair Dye Problem- Any Professional Hair Color Specialists Out there?
I have been dying my hair for over 15 years now, never had a problem in fact all my hair stylists have always commented on what a flawless job i did!!!! (*pats self on the back*) but lately for some reason no matter how i begin, whether it be to dye the roots first, or the ends first regardless of the fact that i applied a neutral protein filler before starting I end up with the roots all bright and the bottom with the yummy color i wanted all over to begin with!!!!!!! anyone have any solutions to this????? Should I re-apply another box?I know, I know that's bad!!!
BTW: I have light auburn-red hair and dyed it a black cherry (deep burgundy) My hair is not very easy to hold a color for long!!!Hair Dye Problem- Any Professional Hair Color Specialists Out there?
I AGREE WITH THE FIRST ANSWER, BUT IF YOU DO GO TO THE SALON PLEEAASSE TELL THE STYLIST WHAT YOU HAVE PUT IN YOUR HAIR (TYPE OF COLOR %26amp; BRAND). IF YOU DON'T IT COULD BE A BIGGER DISASTER. LETTING THE STYLIST KNOW WHAT KIND OF COLOR YOU HAVE BEEN USING WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR HER TO DETERMINE WHAT TO DO FOR YOUR HAIR. Noooooooooo, please don't do anything else! That's why your stylist has always complimented you on your haircolor. We know that sooner or later that you ';at home colorist'; will botch the job up and need major color correction! Without a proper consultation its impossible to give you professional advice. Go see your stylist so that he/she can correct the ';hot roots'; that you seem to have. TAKE YOUR CHECKBOOK!

Is there beauty schools just to get a certificate in professional hair coloring?
i don't think i am interested in learning to cut and perm and all that stuff. Is there beauty schools just to get a certificate in professional hair coloring?
Usually you have to get your license in cosmetology, that's the way the state board will certify you to work on people, but once you have your license you can specialize in color only by taking advanced learning courses. You should check the laws in your state, google your STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY, ESTHETICS AND BARBERING.

I have dark brown hair and would like a professional hair color that will NOT DARKEN w/o brasiness?
I need a single process professional hair color that will not darken my dark brown hair, but just cover the grays and SLIGHTLY LIGHTEN without brasiness, reds or oranges
THANK YOUI have dark brown hair and would like a professional hair color that will NOT DARKEN w/o brasiness?
Loving care - contains no peroxide so it will not lighten or make your hair brassy. Avoid colors with red or auburn tones and stick with a medium to dark blonde shade. Dark blonde actually comes out to be a light to medium brown, so the grey will actually pick up lighter brown highlights with no brassiness or red.I have dark brown hair and would like a professional hair color that will NOT DARKEN w/o brasiness?
Extremely difficult... yourself? or professional hair place? or are you getting a dye thats professional? first time? anyways I have had a ton of out of the box color and look all golden and brassy.. really hard to get rid of.. and professional hair salon I got red, orange.. when I wanted my natural hair color which isn't red or orange.. do cooler or warmer tones.. not ashy.. bad.. or golden.. How much does professional hair coloring cost?
I have naturally dark reddish blonde hair, but I want to dye it platinum. I heard that if you dye it that light at home, all your hair can fall out! About how much would it cost to get it done at a salon? How much does professional hair coloring cost?
Coloring it from dark to very light at home could result in breakage, damage or undesired color (orange). The cost of a salon color could vary due to product used, how long and how thick is your hair, type of salon, and stylist experience. I would expect anywhere from $70 to $200. It seems a little expensive but I believe you may need a double process color. How much does professional hair coloring cost?
Dying it will probably costs around 80 bucks for the average hair salon, but can go up to 150 or 200 dollars. But i bleach mine platinum at home all the time, and my hair is perfectly fine. You might wanna try it at home, then get it touched up at a hair salon, were it wont cost near as much to just do the roots, and touch up any mess-ups you might have done. Good luck
hey..
depending on the dakness of your hair it will depend the cost.
your hair will defently not fall out at home!!!!
it should not cost more then $100 if your hair isnt VERY long

Yes, it removes hair of all colors.Does l'oreal professional hair color remover mistake fix kit really work on black hair?
that's basically what hair salons call ';bleaching the hair'; to put a new color after, so yeh it works for all hair types and colors.
when u apply it on ur hair, the color u want to remove will still be there, but its really not u know what i mean ?!? then u just have to dye ur hair with a new color and ur all done..
just make sure u dont leave the bleaching on ur hair longer that what it says on the package ... ;)

Yes, it removes hair of all colors.Does l'oreal professional hair color remover mistake fix kit really work on black hair?
that's basically what hair salons call ';bleaching the hair'; to put a new color after, so yeh it works for all hair types and colors.
when u apply it on ur hair, the color u want to remove will still be there, but its really not u know what i mean ?!? then u just have to dye ur hair with a new color and ur all done..
just make sure u dont leave the bleaching on ur hair longer that what it says on the package ... ;)
I need to know the ratio for professional hair color, I know I would use the color and the developer.?
How much of each?I need to know the ratio for professional hair color, I know I would use the color and the developer.?
i suggest you use a 20 developer ratio 1:1 %26amp; color no 4 or 5.if you use a 40 developer, the lifting of color level is 3 %26amp; i dont think it can cover a 100% grey hair,it also cause color to fade faster.if you mix 1:2 it will cause the same problem.the color depht should not use level 6 because i dont think it can cover the grey hair.I need to know the ratio for professional hair color, I know I would use the color and the developer.?
It depends on the brand of color you're using. Almost all colors are a 1:1 ratio. So 2 oz of developer per every two 2oz of color.
It all depends on the products. Some is 2 oz. of developer per color (all of tube). If its powder its different as well. Sorry really need to know what you are using-re-post with that info. and I bet you will get an answer. Good luck!

I want to use professional hair color at home, Any advice? I don't want my hair to fall out.?
I know this much: I was thinking Redken Shades EQ or Wella Koleston. I know it needs to be mixed with developer (20Volume?)-but, is it that simple? and do I need a certain brand developer to mix with a certain brand dye, or does any brand go with and developer? Also, what is the ratio of color to developer? I have light brown hair, am looking to dye it to dark brown. THANK YOU!!!!!I want to use professional hair color at home, Any advice? I don't want my hair to fall out.?
Be careful with your color choice as 'dark brown' could be REALLY dark brown. It's better to choose a shade or 2 lighter than your desired color. I use a 10 volume on my beautician's recommendation. The lady at Sally suggested a 20; think it depends on the hair. Usually color is mixed 1/2 %26amp; 1/2 w/developer. It really is easy to do. The hardest part is deciding on the shade. I've had very good luck w/Nice %26amp; Easy, Revlon, %26amp; L'Oreal brands, too, from W-M, etc.; everything you need is in the package. If you go to Sally, there should be someone to help you find the right products.

you should def use a 5 step treatment on her hair first. LANZA makes a great one. then youd have to lift her 7c color out. then dye is a shad darker and add the lighter blonde tones. stay away from ash. it could turn it green tintedChi professional hair color red to blonde?
You will need to use a ';Color Remover'; first. (Clairol UNCOLOR , L'Oreal EFFASOL / EFFASOR , Color Oops!)

Using professional hair color has made by hair go grey?
I have colored my hair twice in the past year in a salon and have noticed recently that I have a lot of grey hair. I have been using shampoo and conditioner to preserve my hair color so I am not sure if this has anything to do with my hair going grey. Is there any way to stop my hair going grey, like using some hair oil or any other herbal products? I have a lot of grey hair and I don't want them to increase so I won't be coloring my hair in a salon or at home. I am also in my early 30's.
Thanks in advance for your helpUsing professional hair color has made by hair go grey?
The coloring did not make your hair turn gray. The color was covering up the fact that you have gray hair. There is nothing you can do to stop it or make it go away. I am 28 and have gray hair poping up all over. Your stuck with it unless you use the specific dye for hiding gray hair. I think it is Nice And Easy that is for gray hair.Using professional hair color has made by hair go grey?
LOL...I don't think so. Haircolor does not do that. Age, sickness, and stress are the leading cause of grey hair. There is no way to stop premature greying. My suggestion is to color it, by a professional. Sorry.
You can not stop the gray, I color mine, I wish there was a way to stop it.
The coloring did not make your hair turn gray. The fact that you're in your early 30's did.
Salon hair colouring lasts a long time, but they use a lot of harsh ingredients like peroxide.
Have you tried using a simple, home hair colouring system like Just For Men? It only takes 5 minutes and the results last up to 6 weeks. Its no more difficult than shampooing.

How does sally beauty supply get away with selling professional hair color to retail customers?
They don't sell professional color.
Well, If you count L'oreal and whatnot as professional color, Then they are allowed to sell it. But if it's Matrix, Redkin, etc color, Then they can't cause only so many distrubtors can sell them. Which is license only beauty supplys. If that makes any sense. How does sally beauty supply get away with selling professional hair color to retail customers?

In opion what do you think the best professional hair color to achieve a vibrant red is?
I personally prefore Matrix Red Lights. The reds are so intense and don't fade quite as fast as other (if taken care of). Redken Hi Fusion is my next favorite ( I mix it will a shimmer lights red so its not so neon). I would recommend staying away from Paul Mitchell reds. The few times I've used it, it faded really fast and wasn't all that intense to begin with, the I LOVE paul mitchell browns :)

You don't use hydrogen peroxide to dye your hair. You need a developer that you should have purchased when you were in the shop talking to the girl. Trust me don't do it. Go out and get the developer.

Can I dye my hair two days in a row with professional hair color?
I dyed my hair last night and it's not as dark as I would have wanted it. Can I dye it tonight or is that too rough on my hair? I bought the color from a professional beauty salon. Can I dye my hair two days in a row with professional hair color?
Yes you certainly can...Its done all the time..Use a demi permanant color for deposite only..Dont use a any hair color with 20 volume or higher..10 vol or less is best...Go ahead and color away..No damage.....Can I dye my hair two days in a row with professional hair color?
Depends on what type of haircolor. If it's semi-permanent, you can. If it's demi-permanent or permanent, I would recommend waiting at least two weeks to minimize damage and condition your hair as much as possible (everyday) until you color it again. And defintely condition it after you color again...and get your dead ends trimmed.
Hope this helps.
yes no probs did it myself?
did u not ask the salon, i dont think u can but what harm would it be to pick up a phone and ring up any hairdressers and ask for their opinion, free advice....well i suppose u will have to pay for the price of the call so we'll say cheap professional advice
i would say you can, just dont straighten it or use abrasive styling products for a week or two..
well when i dyed my hair a couple of weeks ago i tried to dye it platinum blonde but as my hair woz lite brown it went a sort of yellowy orange colour so the day after i died it again using the same product which woz LIVE XXL colour which i brought at the chemist, and my hair went white so then i used a toner, it was just a 99p wash in wash out colour and it went more of a platinum colour it did dry my hair out a bit but i went to the hairdressers and got some professional shampoo and conditioner and now it looks great plus my hair is quite thin so I'm sure it will be fine.
since you're going darker i would use a toner...much more gentle
YES YOU SURE CAN. I HAVE DONE IT MYSELF ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. IT WILL NOT HURT A THING. JUST DON'T DO IT TOO OFTEN.
Yes you can. I was a beautician several years ago and have done this. I would just be sure to condition it well.skin allergy

Where can I buy professional hair color online?
I am a licensed cosmetologist. When I was in school we used Wella Koleston Perfect Hair Color. The school has since been bought out by new owners who no longer use the Wella color. I am looking for a reputable website that sells professional color.
I don't even know if Wella still makes the Koleston perfect line, so any info would be helpful.Where can I buy professional hair color online?

How differant is professional hair color from the over the counter kinds?
I want to highlight my hair blond myself to save some $, but im worried it will look bad. Is it the dye or the stylist that are the reason it usually comes out better at the salon? How differant is professional hair color from the over the counter kinds?
The reason it comes out better at a salon is a combination of the two. For one thing, boxed dyes can't be altered at home. A professional colorist can alter colors by mixing them so they compliment your hair and skin colors. Professional colorists also have the benefit of years of experience--they know where to put highlights, how light to make them, and basically have the ability to create the exact look you want. If you're going to do your highlights yourself, a word of warning--you can't see your whole head! As for trusting a friend or family member, they will be able to at least see your hair from all angles, but lack the expertise you would find from a professional. Your best bet is always to go to a professional salon, but if you know someone who has done the process before, boxed kits can work out ok. Just don't expect it to look EXACTLY like it would if you'd gone to the salon. How differant is professional hair color from the over the counter kinds?
OTC haircolors are stronger than most salon haircolor. The companies that sell the OTC products have to be sure they will work for everyone that uses them, so they make their formulas as strong as possible to be sure the women (or men) with resistant hair will get good results. Salons can tailor the levels or strength to your hair to be sure you get the least amount of damage.
The stylists are also a good part of the reason salon jobs generally turn out better. They have been trained to choose the right colors for your skin tone and proper application procedures.
Hope this helped!
about $18
there is not much of a difference really but somehow it looks better if its professionally made because you're confident of how it looks since it was done by someone who knows the stuff it's all in the wy you project and caarry it
I can tell you from a personal experience, go to the stylist. I decided to dye my hair and just got some dye from the store and tried. It came out terrible for a number of reasons. The first one is that my hair is quite thick and I guess I should have used two boxes. Also, the dye from the stores had different chemicals in it from the salon. The fumes almost made me pass out. I actually tried to dye it once before and it turned out ok, but my husband was there to make sure I got the formula all over; this time it was really streaky, so make sure you have someone with you if you do decide to do it at home. Also, I ended up having to go to the salon and having someone fix it, which some salons charge more for when they have to do a ';corrective coloring';. So, if it were me; I would just same myself the hassle and go to the salon because if you mess up and have to go anyways, you will not have saved any money.
When a stylist does it they can see the back of your head. When you do it it might come out uneven or if you have dark hair it might turn out orange if not done right.
Neither is the big deal. A hair dresser can see how it is being applied, but you can see and feel where you are applying and
where you may have missed. In a salon or at home, the dye
stains skin just the same if not damp wiped rather quick.
At home, you can mount a large mirror in window sill above
kitchen sink if light is good to work with. As for the dye, all are made the same, except for different shades. Look at it this
way, the money you save, + tip, could pay for nails %26amp; pedicure
every six weeks or towards a nice dinner for you %26amp; a friend.
Tip: Those Asian owned 99 Cent+ stores in my Los Angeles
County have Apielle Hair Color for $1.50 each, which I have

and I'm really saving now! Stocked in blonde, med brn, blk.

How can I buy professional hair color so I can highlight my own hair?
I know it sounds loco... but I am tired of spending $1500+ on my hair every year, and I've watched for long enough that I think I could practice and try it on myself if I had the right products. Does anyone know how to purchase the good expensive hair color that salons use without having a license? How can I buy professional hair color so I can highlight my own hair?
I am not sure if the brands they use at the salon can be purchased without a license, but if they can be I'm sure they would sell them at a salon. Or at the very least someone at the salon would be able to tell you where you could purchase them.
Beauty supplies require licenses - and most of the time the license holder has to make the actual purchase. Sometimes some of the supplies will take a phone order from a customer they know and allow another person to pick it up. My grandmother has a license and this is how I get my shampoos, perms and hair color.
My best advice is to ask your stylist or someone in the business. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
EDIT: Also, check with some of the supplies (State Beauty and Heil). Sometimes they will offer a day open to the public. If so go and stock up!How can I buy professional hair color so I can highlight my own hair?
Check Sally's Beauty Supplies. They sell to professionals and at a good price. That's where my mom got our waxer.
YOU don't.
that's why these products are sold ONLY to professionals. that's what makes them PROFESSIONAL products.
and if your hairstylist purchases it for you and you screw up your own hair it's his/her LICENSE at steak - (who cares about your hair?) you only have screwed up hair ; the stylist now has a screwed up life.
now, is your hair worth the integrity of a professional just because you don't want to spend 1500 dollars a year on your hair? NO
I suggest asking someone at the salon, more than likely they'll will tell you thier favorite types and/or brands
a lot of times if you go to a smaller independantly owend beauty supply store, they have a lot more options and brands to choose from. you can also ask other people who work at the salon if they know where she gets her supplies.
Chances are there is a beauty supply store in your town, check the phone book. A popular one around here is called Sally Beauty Supply. It's open to the public and has everything you'll need.
any place normally caries it even salon u can get it i do my own seem be ok

How to Remove Hair Dye stains from counter top/sink/floor/walls
Step 1take 1/2 cup liquid laundry detergent and mix with 1/2 cup of white vinegar - you can save any left over for other stain removal items.
Step 2scrub the area in which is stained until removed. You may need to let it sit for about 10 minutes or so depending on the color of dye..
Step 3rinse area with water to rid the mixture after stain is removed. May need to repeat this procedure if necessary

How to remove from carpet:
1. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water.
2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent/vinegar solution, blotting frequently with a dry cloth until the stain disappears.
3. Sponge with cold water.
4. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
5. Sponge the stain with rubbing alcohol. Blot to remove the stain.
6. Sponge with cold water.
7. If the stain remains, mix one teaspoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of ammonia with two cups of warm water. Sponge the stain with this solution. Leave it on the stain for at least 30 minutes, blotting every five minutes with a clean white cloth and more solution.
8. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
Worth a Try on Carpet or Upholstery
If the hair-dye stain doesn't completely disappear on carpet or upholstery, use an eye dropper to apply hydrogen peroxide. (Test the hydrogen peroxide in a hidden spot for safety first.) Let dry for 24 hours, and then repeat, if necessary. If this treatment removes the original color of the carpet or upholstery along with the stain, try using a felt-tip fabric marking pen (available in craft stores) as close as possible to the original color to fix the stained area. Check the ink color on a clean white cloth before applying it to your carpet or upholstery.

What are some brands of professional hair color or glazing products?
Since I prefer just to touch up the brown in my brown hair, I prefer not to pay high salon prices but would still like to use the same products used at high-end salons. What are some brands of professional hair color or glazing products used in high-end salons? I am particularly interested in glazing.
Thanks. What are some brands of professional hair color or glazing products?
There is Sebastians Colourshines, which is considered one of the best glazing colors out there. I know there is more but can't glaze my hair at this point since my scalp is so sensitive.

one of the best ones is called Ion Color Brilliance, it was some amazing stuff, along with their developer line. it made my hair really soft, and the colors worked pretty well. the developer made the smell really fruity and nice. :)
hopefully this helped a little!

What brand of professional hair color is best for curly dark hair?
I have thin, curly locks, with lots of body, similar to Shakira鈥檚 curls. Everytime I color my hair professionally it doesn鈥檛 last, even though I use color care products. Many have told me the best color brand is Wella. Currently my hair is a medium blond auburn, and wish to color it a chocolate brown. Any suggestions on which brand I should ask for at the hair dresser?
